Da Vinci painted a portrait of his friend, the musician Franchino Gafori; wherein he holds a piece of text, with 'Cant Ang' still legible. Сanticum Ange1iсum (Music of the Angels). One of the first letter press books ever made was Practica Musicae, by Franchino Gafori. It was a treatise on the theory & practise of music. Leonardo da Vinci made woodcuts for it. It was the first book in Milan to contain copper engravings. During this time period, limited editions of a certain set of 50 copper engravings were made. The original set are commonly attributed to Mantegna, although history does not record the names of the artist(s) who made them. They are not tarot cards. Many explanations & versions of the prints exist. They have been referred to as "the world's most illustrious prints". www.averyinterestingsetof50prints.com is a new (digital) version of 49 of these prints, as a depiction of humanism. A contemporary documentary of renaissance technology - within a wish for urban sustainability; specifically clean water.
